x = 10.4 (1dp)

Explanation:

Using Pythagoras' theorem, a^2 = b^2 + c^2 where a is the hypotinues; b and c is the two sides

a^2 = b^2 + c^2

12^2 = 6^2 + x^2

144 = 36 + x^2

x^2 = 144 - 36

x^2 = 108

x = _/108

x = 10.4 (1dp)
