Critical thinking : Do magnets need to touch a piece of iron or another magnet to exert a magnetic force on the iron or other magnet?

Answer:

I wouldn't think so because it is the magnetic field that Attracts and repels. When iron is magnetised to something don't the molecules lineup in the North the South pattern or something like that to create a magnetic field and stick together.

I might be wrong because this is my personal opinion on the matter.
