The electoral college is democratic.
The founding fathers created this system in order to give equivalent representation to smaller states, and ward away the danger of demagogues taking power through manipulating the population. However, many think that the electoral college needs to be abolished due to the not representing the people's will, along with the easy access of information by voters through modern technology.
