The measure of angle ABC is equal to ABD + CBD. If you have the measure of ABC and CBD, then you can subtract CBD from ABC to get the measure of ABD. Proof below:
ABC = ABD + CBD
subtract CBD from both sides
ABC - CBD = ABD
