The instinct to respond if they are in danger is beneficial to an animals' survival. Normally young doesn't know how to hunt nor what to hunt. But, all young can know that something is wrong this is called fear. Fear is a natural instinct that is both normal and learned. Fear protects something from going into a bad situation.
