Recently just watched The Christmas Drop on Netflix. The movie takes place on my home island known as Guam. With the little representation we get many of us were excited to see a big budget movie showcasing our Native land. Despite all the excitement, I feel as though it was a let down. It had a very Eurocentric theme and misrepresented our people of the islands. The movie was a cute story, but definitely showcased a white-savior complex. Our native Chamorro history deserves the spotlight, but not in this manner. -Published by Haley ( this is my real take on the
