Why did Shakespeare write so many plays?

Answer: He wrote his plays because he enjoyed theatrical plays and he realized that he could write his own because of his playwright (Definition - A person who writes plays, Similar Words - Dramatist, Writer, Scriptwriter, Screenwriter).

William Shakespeare got his inspiration from reading older non-historical books and began to write plays that were similar to parts of these books. His goal was to entertain people with the plays that he wrote.
