4(6 – x) + 4 = 2 (3x + 1) – 6

24 - 4x + 4 = 6x + 2 - 6

28 - 4x = 6x -4

-4x - 6x = - 4 - 28

-10x = - 32

divide both sides

x = 16/5 or x = 3.2
