How is a warm-up different from a cooldown? How are a warm-up and a cooldown similar?

Warm ups get your heart rate and blood flow up and get your body more active to prepare it to do harder and more vigorous exercises.
Cool downs slow your body and heart rate down after more active exercises and allow you to get to a more stable and normal pace after harder exercises.
