Diary of a Wimpy Kid is subtitled “a novel in cartoons.” How do the cartoons affect the story? Besides the cartoons, in what ways do you think the book is different from other novels you have read?

Answer:

The illustrations are not as detailed as illustrations from other books. The book is different from other novel because it's a Diary that uses cartoons to portray Greg and his family. I think that the cartoons bring humor to the novel at certain times and have eye appeal. Also the narrarator (Greg) is a interesting character himself, just an average kid getting into some odd situations. I'd say that the book is different in a good way.
