Case History:You are an EMT-P and arrive at the home of a 28 year old male. He is conscious and rational and is in a great deal of pain. He is seated on a chair and is leaning forward. He tells you " my stomach hurts" and I have pain in my chest.You ask him to lift his shirt so you can examine his abdominal region. Immediately you notice a red blistering rash across his stomach and he is sweating profusely. You begin to touch his stomach area and notice he is burning up with fever. What can you do for this patient that another EMT can not do?
