The equation is not balanced because the number of sodium atoms is not equal on both sides of the arrow

Explination: On the left you only have one Na, but on the other you have two.

**when balancing, always always ALWAYS double check to see that your coefficients don't mess the previous balance up. Sodium was balanced before, but adjusting so the result had the same amount of chlorine changed the number of sodium atoms.
