The civil war was long and bloody. By 1864 many northerners were tired of the war. Others wanted to keep fighting think about the two questions above and what each party wanted in the election of 1864. For which political party would you have voted? Why? What do you dislike about the other party's platform

I would have voted for the Republicans to make sure that slavery ended. The Democrats’ platform doesn’t take a stand on the burning issue that divided the nation—slavery. It also appears to take a lenient approach to Southern secession. In addition, the Democrats seemed to sympathize with secessionists and enslavers.
