A piece of metal will feel colder than a piece of wood at the same temperature.why?

Even though they are the same temperature, the metal will feel colder than the wood because of the thermal conductivity of the metal, compared to the wood. Metal is a good conductor of heat, hence it sends away the heat. On the other hand, wood is a poor conductor of heat, hence releases the heat too slowly.
