Amiya has 8 more stamps than Huiling. Ravi has twice as many stamps as Amiya. Amiya and Ravi have 72 stamps altogether. How many stamps does Huiling have?

• Amiya = x
• Ravi = 2x

Amiya + Ravi = 72

x + 2x = 72

3x = 72

x = 72/3

x = 24

therefore Amiya has 24 stamps

Huiling has 8 more than Amiya = 24 + 8 = 32stamps
