The car was driven 420 miles.
f(m) = 0.22m + 50
1. Substitute the total cost into f(m)
142.40 = 0.22m + 50
2. Subtract 50 from both sides
92.4 = 0.22m
3. Divide both sides by 0.22
420 = m
