How does the tendency to lose electrons will change in a group and why?​

Answer:Tendency of an element to lose the electrons increases when we go down the group.This is because atomic size increases when we move down a group. And force of attraction of nucleus for the valence electron decreases. This makes it easier for an element to lose electrons. Hence, metallic character increases on moving down a group.
