A. ruled with an iron fist

E. commissioned paintings sculptures and building projects.

Timur the Lame, the "Prince of Destruction" was one the greatest rulers of the Mongol dynasty who ruled from 1370 to 1405. He ruled with an iron fist and was known for his merciless and blood thirsty invasions He is often called as "Prince of Destruction" because he ransacked and invaded cities and towns to ashes.

However, Timur spared many artisans and craftspeople from during his occupations because he needed such people for his envisioned imperial capital. He would commission paintings, sculptures and building projects in his capital Samarkand and used skilled artisans and craftsmen for this purpose.
