Why did the delegates at the Constitutional Convention insist on meeting

in private? If this meeting were to take place today, do you think it would

Well, they had to hold the meetings privatley due to the fact that if they were found out they'd be killed, as they were basically plotting against the crown. If they were to hold these meetings in present day things would be different yes, but they'd still be running the risk of two things, being caught and getting killed.
