The last column of the periodic table contains the noble gases, elements that do not easily form chemical bonds. why don’t these gases tend to form chemical bonds?

Because these gases are stable; the last orbital has 8 electrons making the element stable. Since it has 8 electrons it doesn’t need to mix with other elements to become stable.
