What is the equation of the line, in standard form, if the slope is = - 1/4 and it passes through point (-3,4) ?

Answer:

x+4y=13

Explanation:

slope m= -1/4

(-3,4)

Slope intercept form: y=mx+c. plug in values of x,y,m, find c

4=(-1/4)*(-3)+c

c=4-3/4=(16-3)/4=13/4

Equation of line is:

y=(-1/4)x+13/4

To bring it to standard form, 4y=-x+13

x+4y=13
