Most of the Colonies(In the Americas) were colonized by European powers because they had Greed; they desired more money, wealth, and power. In School, we are told this is the 3 G's Gold, God, and Glory. European powers were the most powerful during the time, and had more influence, and resources to be able to colonize these many nations in the Americas(specifically). However persecution in Europe led the Pilgrims, Puritans, and other religious groups(primarily within Christianity) to find refuge from King George and other tyrants.
