As Hitler was not in power during World War 1, it would not affect him negatively. In fact, Hitler used that chance and gained power due to the treaty of Versailles and other major causes. Hitler successively rose to power due to the huge loss from WW1, and many German citizens saw him as a savior as he rose. He promised to break away from the treaty, in which he did, and later started WW2 in the invasion of Poland.
