I know that the answer is not A. mostly studies written records, because that only goes for Historians, but B and C are both Good answers.

I believe that the answer is A because they do not makeup stories using their imaginations. Archaelogists use the fossil record and do not make conclusions on hard evidence even though It does sound familiar.
