tan(θ) + cot(θ) = sin(θ) / cos(θ) + cos(θ) / sin(θ)

tan(θ) + cot(θ) = sin²(θ) / (sin(θ) cos(θ)) + cos²(θ) / (sin(θ) cos(θ))

tan(θ) + cot(θ) = (sin²(θ) + cos²(θ)) / (sin(θ) cos(θ))

tan(θ) + cot(θ) = 1 / (sin(θ) cos(θ))

tan(θ) + cot(θ) = csc(θ) sec(θ)
