Answer:

A≈1075.21

Explanation

The Diameter goes all the way across the circle and you need the radius to find the area, so you split the diameter in half and multiply by pi. A=πr^2

Sometimes teachers prefer if you multiply by 3.14 instead of pi so that would be 1074.665.

(Full pi answer steps)-

Split the diameter(37) in half(18.5) Take 18.5 and take it up to the second power (18^2 or 18 times 18=342.25) Then multiply by pi(π) Leaving you with A≈1075.21

(3.14 answer steps)-

Split the diameter(37) in half(18.5) Take 18.5 and take it up to the second power (18^2 or 18 times 18=342.25) Then multiply by 3.14. This leaves you with the answer A≈1074.665

(The equal sign is kinda squiggly because it doesn't equal exactly those answers)

Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong about this answer

Answer:

1075 square inches

Formulae:

r = 18.5d = 37C = 116

A = πr2 = π(d2)2

A = C24π

π = 3.1415

A = area

C = circumference or perimeter

r = radius, d = diameter

Solution Steps:

Area of a circle in terms of radius:

Area = π·r2 = 3.14·18.52 = 1075 square inches(*)

Area of a circle in terms of diameter:

Area = π·(d2)2 = 3.14·(372)2 = 3.14·(18.5)2 = 1075 square inches(*)

Area of a circle in terms of circumference:

Area = C24π = 116.224π = 13502.44(4·3.14) = 13502.4412.56 = 1075 square inches
