The first time the archangel Gabriel spoke to the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad s.a.w he told him ,"to read in the name of your Lord who has created you with clot of blood."

But the holy Prophet was unable to read and write so Gabriel taught him orally. Then afterwards he was told to spread the message of Allah.
