Making Generalizations Machiavelli advises those in power that “fear preserves you by a dread of punishment which never fails.” What point is he trying to make? Do you think modern democratic leaders follow Machiavelli’s advice? If you do, describe one. If not, explain why such a philosophy cannot work in a true democracy.

Answer:

Machiavelli’s advice to modern democratic leaders is discussed below in details.

Step-by-step explanation:

Machiavelli suggests the ruler enhances a great trickster and impostor, and that individuals are so simple to lie, that the ruler won't have a problem with twisting to others. He supports this by saying that individuals are mean, and never hold their words, therefore the ruler doesn't have to hold his. and yes nowadays do not keep their words or the promises they do before elections well some do but many don't.
