Please explain why are these statements are personification:

1. The vital splendor misses
2. The sea pursues​

1. the vital splendor cannot miss anything... it never had intentions or aim in the first place as it is not human

2. the sea exists only to ebb and flow and provide a home for sea creatures. it is incapable or pursuing anything as it cannot have a desire to do so

because those were inanimate objects but we're exerted with human abilities such as misses and pursues.
