Identify the dependent and independent variables on the following scenario:A teacher wants to know if there is a significant difference in the academic performance of senior high school students when grouped according to strand. Thirty students per strand were randomly assigned as respondents of the study. At the end of the semester, their overall grade point average was noted.​

the independent variable (thing being altered for the experiment) is the way the student are grouped (by strand). the dependent variable (thing that changes as a result of the independent variable) is the gpa of the students.
