How has the constitution been able to stay legitimate for over 200 years?

Answer:

Bc it's the supreme law of the land...the government must abide by it and laws can be added or taken away but, in order for that to happen the Union (States of America) must vote on whether or not to add or take away any laws therefore making it difficult to do so. But, to get back on topic it's still legitimate bc from the beginning of the making of this nation, it was set up to rule over the government and act as a "restraining order" for the people and help to keep the people free
