3 + 2.7x = 9.5 + 3.2x

-2.7x -2.7x

3 = 9.5 + .5x

I just moved the 2.7 to the opposite side and combining the like terms.

3 = 9.5 + .5x

-9.5 -9.5

-6.5 = .5x

Now you need to isolate the variable by dividing both sides by .5 to get the answer of x = -13
