Explanation:

PEMDAS (Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, Addition/subtraction) Whenever you solve a multi-step equation you need to do it in the order of pemdas. Since we have parenthesis on both the top and bottom half of the division equation we do what is inside of those parenthesis first. (9-3/1) you need to do 3/1 first, which is just three, and then do 9-3, which is 6. on the bottom half you have (3+1) which is 4, so now you just have 6/4, which simplifies to 3/2, or 1.5.
