Answer: 20.

Explanation:

Let x = Number of hours take to have the same fuel.

The Honda generator contains 60 gallons of fuel and uses 2.5 gallons per hour.

Fuel remained in generator after x hours = 60- 2.5x

The Ryobi generator contains 40 gallons of fuel and uses 1.5 gallons per hour.

Fuel remained in generator after x hours = 40- 1.5x

As per given,

60- 2.5x = 40-1.5x\\\Rightarrow\ 2.5x-1.5x=60-40\\\Rightarrow\ x=20

hence, the required number of hours = 20.
