Answer:

You want to find the value of the variable. To do that you must put all the numbers contaning the variable on one side of the equation and the rest on the other side. And divide your answer on both sides of the equation by the number that is multiplying the variable.

Explanation:

Example:

For the first question you want to find the value of x. To do that you must put 9x and -2x on one side, and -4 and 7 on the oppisite side.

9x - 4 = 7 - 2x

9x - 4 + 4 + 2x = 7 - 2x + 4 + 2x

9x + 2x = 7 + 4

11x = 11

11x {divided by} 11 = 11 {divided by} 11

x = 1
