Samuel Morse created Morse code, which was perhaps the most important form of communication in ships and airplanes in the late 18th Century to the mid 19th Century. Alexander Graham Bell is credited with creating the first telephone, which has been unbelievably important since the late 1800's, and has become a necessity of life in the 21st Century.
