x=6/5 ,y= -7/15

Explanation:

we are going to solve this simultaneously.

2x+3y=1.......(i)

and

5x+2=8

5x=6

x= 6/5 .......(ii)

Now let's put value of x into equation number (i)

2x+3y=1

2(6/5) +3y=1

12/5 +3y =1

3y= 1-(12/5)

3y = -7/5

y = (-7/5) ÷3

y= -7/15
