P=2L+2W

let the width be x

W=x

L=x+19

perimeter P=46ft

Therefore substituting and solving for x we have

46=2(x+19)+2x

46=2x+38+2x

46=2x+2x+38

46-38=4x

8=4x

x=8/4

x=2

the width is 2

the lenght = 2+19=21
