They form the outer covering of the body surface which protects the body from any external danger.Cuboidal epithelial cells, as their name suggests, are shaped like cubes. These are typically found in tissues that secrete or absorb substances, such as in the kidneys and glands. Columnar epithelial cells are long and thin, like columns. These are usually found in places that secrete mucus such as the stomach.
