Answer:

Just like living organisms, viruses use genetic material such as DNA or RNA, but unlike living things, they cannot reproduce using mitosis, binary fission or meiosis. Instead, they simply insert the genetic material into a living cell and then replicate their genetic material along with the cell's in order to create more viruses.
