If the cotton gin made cotton production faster and cheaper, why did it increase labor needs? It enabled more cotton to be processed. It destroyed some cotton through processing. It required many people to run the machine. It prompted farmers to grow other crops.

Answer:

The cotton gin was a machine that made cleaning cotton seeds easier and faster. Because the Cotton gin was introduced, demand for cotton increased, and slaves where needed to grow and harvest this new amount.
