First you line up all of the factors and then find the common factor that is the biggest you can find.

3 : 1, 3

24 : 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24

Once you find the GCF then you can divide them by it,

3/3 = 1

24/8 = 8

Then you turn the one into y.

And that's your answer!
