Many Native American tribes settle near some source of water. In using water routes, the Europeans will meet many of these tribes. Typically good relations is created based on gifts and trade, including the Europeans supplying colored beads, rifles and muskets, and manufactured goods, while the Native tribes generally provided food when needed, as well as fur and other high-demand & high-paying natural products that have little worth to the Native tribes themselves. This type of trade ensured that the European traders would get not only their money that they spent on their wares back, but also a profit, which allowed them to get rich.
