A recylcying center was offering cash for different types of recylcables. For each pound of copper they paid $1.48. For each pound of aluminum they paid $1.55. And for each pound of plasic they paid $0.30. Jesse took in 50 pounds of copper, 15 pounds of aluminum, and 10 pounds of plastic. How mush money was he paid for his recyclables?

c for the amount of copper,
a for the amount of aluminum, and
p for the amount of plastic. We can then create this equation to represent the sum of the amount of material times the value. This equation will look like this:
T=1.48c+1.55a +.30p

Now that we have an equation written out, we can plug in the amount of each material to get
T=1.48(50)+1.55(15)+.30(10). We can then simplify this by following PEDMAS and multiplying to get
T=74+23.25+3 and then all we have left is to add to get
T=100.25
