George Orwell said that Animal Farm was the first book in which he attempted "to fuse

political purpose and artistic purpose into one whole" rather than simply telling a story and
letting its themes and messages emerge more naturally. Did it work? Is Animal Farm literature,
or just a long argument about politics?

Answer:

well i got no clue what was up with that last answer but animal farm is more than a long argument about politics, it is a great piece of literature written to open your eyes to the world around you. It uses political and artistic forms to get its themes across to the reader, this may be hard to pick up on at first but by the end of the story the reader should understand at least the main theme about the cost and strain too much power can cause
