if the x values increase or decrease constantly and if the y values increase or decrease constantly. Ex
x. y
2. 3
4. 6
6. 9
in this example the x values are increasing by 2 every time while the y values are increasing by 3 every time. note that the increase or decrease of the x and y values dont have to be the same
