When plants lean towards the light, explain what process plants are demonstrating and why.

Plants lean towards the light because light is the energy source for plant growth. When a plant has a higher concentration of auxin on the shady side it causes that side to grow more so it can bend more towards the light. When this process happens, it's called positive phototropism.
