l= 3x + 1

to get the perimeter you need to add all sides.

x + x + 3x + 3x + 1 + 1 = 98

8x + 2 = 98

8x = 96

x = 12

To get the length plug in the value of the x to 3x + 1.

length = 3(12) +1

length = 37
