William travels only on Saturdays and Sundays and has flown 1,020 miles this month. Jason travels every weekday and has flown 2,200 miles this month. If each man travels about the same number of miles each day, who travels more miles per day for this month? Explain.

Answer:

William

Explanation:

There are 8 Saturday and Sunday in a month. William travels only on Saturdays and Sundays and has flown 1,020 miles this month. He has travelled (1020/8) miles per day = 127.5 miles/day

There are 30-8 = 22 weekdays in a month. Jason travels every weekday and has flown 2,200 miles this month. It would mean that he travelled (2200/22) = 100 miles/day.

It is very clear that no of miles travelled per day by William is more than the no of miles travelled per day by Jason for this month.
