What does it mean when you hear science is tentative?

Answer/Explanation:

Tentative means that something is uncertain. So if some aspect of science is described as "tentative" it probably means that there is some evidence to support a hypothesis, but there is more work to be done to be sure about the statements being made.

You may also see these reports described as "preliminary", as they are acknowledging the work is not complete
